The Kurdish Film Festival Berlin is the largest event on Kurdish film in Europe. Their website is the main point of ticket sales, as well as the point of reference for the film program and festival news. In this project, my role was to redesign the user interface for the 2022 edition of the festival.
PROBLEM
The new identity is based on a poster design that features a different typeface and new visual elements. The old website doesn’t feature any of these new visuals, which makes the experience incoherent and might confuse the user. We needed to find a way to include the new identity while still maintaining the existing overall structure and typography.
"How might we give the user a better, consistent experience?"
One of the main goals of the website is to attract the public to explore the movies in the program and eventually buy the tickets. In order to do this, the user needs to have clearly and coherently marked visual cues on where he/she can find information. The old website was based on a layout that lacks dynamism and doesn’t differentiate clearly enough between different forms of content. This can obstruct the user journey and lower conversion rates.
COLORS
Apply color palette from the poster across the website.
SECTIONS AND TYPOGRAPHY
Divide the sections more clearly with color blocking. Adjust typography so that it's more in the focus as the main branding element
CTA BUTTONS
Make the call to action button design more compelling
